We've just come back from a visit to Iceland so wanted to share our thoughts and Insider Tips with you!

Iceland is an unusual and fascinating country to visit at any time of the year. It’s emerald green in the summer and snowy in the winter, it has fascinating geology; stunning scenery; interesting cuisine; cool architecture and a tiny population of warm, welcoming people. Best of all (for us visiting from the UK), is that what used to be a really expensive destination is now relatively quite cheap, after the Icelandic economic crash of a few years ago.

Bruges in Belgium is an amazing place to visit: the historical architecture is stunning; there’s lots to do and great chocolate, beer and delicious Belgian food to enjoy. You can go at any time of the year: the weather is fine in the summer and cold and moody in the winter (you might get some snow if you’re lucky). In the summer it’s busy with hoards of tourists and day-trippers, taking photographs; riding round in horse-drawn buggies and browsing in the chocolate, lace and tapestry shops.

Agriturismo was codified into Italian law in 1985 and means a holiday spent on a working farm or country estate. The small-scale cultivation of local produce and the traditional cuisines of the regions are valued highly by Sicilians, and since small farms have latterly become less profitable, many owners of land or smallholdings have restored their buildings to accommodate holidaymakers and augment their incomes. Many encourage their guests to take part in the farm’s activities while enjoying the rural life of the region, albeit in some comfort.
