Incredible Hotel India

Have you been enjoying the BBC's documentary "Hotel India" about the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai? Vibrant, varied and like nowhere else on Earth, India is a land of passion, colour and adventure. From the foothills of the Himalayas to the tranquil backwaters of Kerala, a new experience awaits around every corner. Be inspired by the Taj Mahal while navigating India’s Golden Triangle, taking in bustling Delhi and the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, board a boat on the sacred Ganges, ride camels in the deserts of Rajasthan or taste spices grown in the hills of Kerala - the range of experiences is endless.

If you have been enjoying BBC's documentary Hotel India and would like to have afternoon tea overlooking their beautiful swimming pool (who wouldn't!) then let us put together a tailor made trip for you - we can include some of the other stunning Taj Hotels in India such as the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur and the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur.

Taj Mahal Palace Hotel India Mumbai

The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel is located opposite the majestic Gateway of India in Mumbai and is just minutes away from the city's commercial and shopping centres. The hotel is an architectural marvel and brings together Moorish, Oriental and Florentine styles. Offering panoramic views of the Arabian Sea and the Gateway of India, the hotel is a gracious landmark of the city of Mumbai. The hotel offers 565 generously-appointed rooms and suites, each adorned with original paintings and period furniture that exude an aura of old-world charm and elegance.

Taj Rambagh Palace Hotel Jaipur India

The Taj Rambagh Palace in Jaipur is set in forty-seven acres of landscaped gardens in the center of the Rajasthan capital, the so-called "Jewel of Jaipur" and is one of the world's most famous palace hotels. Built in 1835, it started life as a modest garden house, serving as a royal guesthouse and hunting lodge for nearly a century, before being transformed into the mythical palace for the Maharaja of Jaipur in 1925. Today, guests still feel a strong connection to this regal history, evidenced in the lavish details such as marbled corridors, carved pillars, and soaring domes. More modern additions are equally sumptuous: the Jiva Grande Spa is housed in tents embellished with wooden floors and sparkling chandeliers, touches the maharaja would surely have applauded.

Taj Lake Palace Hotel Udaipur India

Arriving at the Taj Lake Palace Udaipur, the Vintage coupé glides to a stop at the lake’s edge. It’s hard to believe the floating vision in marble is real. Blink, and indeed, there is a luminous palace emerging from the mist. Suddenly you are in a boat, drifting ever closer and the reality doesn’t disappoint. With the Aravalli Mountains and city palaces as a backdrop one gets an impending sense of enchantment. Every one of the romantic rooms holds a story and among the most compelling is The Chandra Prakash Suite, meaning Lustre of the Moon. The decorative gilt moldings, sculpted marble columns, and fine fretwork screens impressed even the Maharaja who held court in this very room in the 1930s. There are countless unique experiences to be had. Sail into a purple sunset on a 150-year old Gangaur complete with candlelight and resplendently dressed oarsmen. Indulge in a heritage walk with an escort followed by a glass of sparkling wine at the bar. Soak in the sounds and sights of the city as your royal butler accompanies you on a shopping trip. In this royal dream, anything is possible.
